Algae "Open Pond" Design
The most common layout for growing algae in open space is the "Open Pond Design". It has the appearance of a racetrack. In all algae production farms it is critical that the algae be kept suspended in a controlled but constantly moving state to insure healthy and rapid growth. The Algae Paddlewheel is the machine that is used to do this work.
There are a few variations on the racetrack design. Some ponds have a small berm for its walls around the pond. Others use a fixed wall support to contain the algae suspended water. Many algae farms use a series of different size ponds to assist in the algae growth.
Below are a few different ponds types that the Waterwheel Factory has placed algae paddlewheels into.
